Interstellar: A Study in Constellation Design

I’m currently contemplating my first tattoo and I’ve been really inspired by constellation artwork and products. The stars are gorgeous, romantic and a bit of a passion of mine – I’ve always loved the idea of outer space and, conveniently, my name is Stella which means star in Latin. While I try to psych myself into voluntary pain, here are some amazing designs that I’ve been eyeing for inspiration and courage.

1. Ursa Major Illustration by Adam Johnson (this is the design I really want for my tattoo!)

2. Ursa Major Pillow by lovecalifornia

3. Constellation Doormat from Modcloth

4. Celestial Chateau Tea Towel Set from ModCloth

5. Constellation Wallpaper from Spoonflower

6. Whimsical Constellation Throw Pillow from Nuvango

7. Foil Constellation Prints from Minted

Suffice to say, all of these are on my wishlist!

Find of the Week: The Utterly Charming BabyLit Pride & Prejudice Playset

One of my local bookstores is going out of business, so I picked up quite a bit of books at 50% off, but my favourite purchase by far is the Babylit Pride & Prejudice Playset. I must admit that I don’t have any children (I don’t even know any children), so this playset is 100% for me – and I’m not ashamed! P&P has always been one of my absolute favourite books and I just couldn’t resist the chance to arrange the charmingly designed figures into a little vignette on my bookshelf. The set comes with a rather funny counting primer book, lots of character and background cut-outs with stands, and a box that turns into a stage for arranging everything on.

If you’re interested in snagging one for yourself, you can get it here.

Colour Palette Showdown: Tropical Paradise vs. Eternal Winter Hellscape

After spending eight glorious days soaking up sunshine on a Caribbean beach, I’ve returned to find that this awful winter is ENDLESS. We just had another huge snowstorm (it’s MID-MARCH, damn it!) and, because I live in a big city, that means great gobs of ankle-deep dirty slush wherever I go. I usually love winter, but there’s definitely a limit – my boots are filthy, my hands are cold, and I have my millionth sniffly cold of the season.

And so, I present two colour palettes for your consideration – which do you prefer?

Style Obsession: New Girl’s Quirky Chic

Jess from New Girl is basically my style twin – except, you know, with better clothes, hair, make-up and styling.
Hey, a girl can dream.
